    AI consultant for biotech startups

I set up your company's own AI, Claude in practice, to answer from your lab, regulatory and vendor files and to name the document it used.

Biotech startups produce documents faster than anyone can file them. Study reports arrive from CROs, quotes and delay notices arrive from manufacturers, SOPs exist in three versions, and the founder's own notes live in a phone. Most of it sits in inboxes and personal drives, so the AI tool your team already pays for cannot see any of it.

I gather that material into one organized knowledge base in your own Google Drive, Notion or Dropbox. Then I set up Claude to answer from it with sources, connect it to the tools your team already uses, and teach your people to work with it. I have spent the better part of a decade inside biotech and pharma companies, including a contract research organization and a contract manufacturer, and 25 years in and alongside operations and digital marketing departments.

    Who this is for

    • Founders, COOs and heads of operations at biotech, medtech, CRO and CDMO startups of roughly 5 to 50 people.
    • Teams that already pay for an AI tool and get little from it because it knows nothing about the company.
    • A first operations hire who has inherited years of files with no map.
    • Companies preparing for a partnership, a financing round or due diligence, where someone will ask for the right document at short notice.

It is not the right fit if you need a validated GxP system or want patient data inside an AI tool. I will tell you that on the first call.

    What I do

Business Knowledge Base, from $3,500 (1–2 weeks).

I gather your lab results, study reports, SOPs, regulatory documents, vendor and CRO files, contracts and founder notes into one structure with clear names and version numbers, so the current SOP is the one the AI quotes. I write a one-page map that tells the AI, and any new hire, what lives where and which document wins when two disagree. I index it, set up Claude to answer from it with sources, and set up a simple routine so new documents land in the right place. You also get a one-page AI use policy and a map of which data is safe to connect.

Claude Connectors & Automation, from $2,500 (1–3 sessions).

I connect Claude to your email, calendar and files, and set up the routine work: literature summaries, vendor follow-ups and weekly reports. Your team gets hands-on training.

Custom Apps & Dashboards, from $4,000 (1–3 weeks).

I build sample trackers, study dashboards, partner portals and intake forms that draw on the knowledge base.

    Not sure where to start?

The AI Setup Session is 90 minutes for $750. We set up Claude for your company, connect your first tools, draft a one-page AI use policy and map what to build next. The fee is credited toward any project.

Example (illustration only, not a client)

Q: Which version of the sample-receiving SOP is current, and what changed from the last one?

A: Version 4, approved in March, is current. It adds a temperature log at receipt and moves sign-off from the lab manager to QA. Sources: 05-Operations-SOPs/sample-receiving-SOP_v4, 08-Decisions-Log (March entry).

    Relevant experience

    • Raptor Pharmaceuticals (2013–2014). I built and maintained the corporate website and intranet, working with the CMO. Raptor was later acquired by Horizon Pharma for about $800M, and the CMO hired me again at his next company. Case study
    • J-STAR Research, a pharmaceutical R&D company (contractor, January 2020 to September 2023). I rebuilt the B2B website from about 20 pages to more than 80, starting with interviews with the scientists. Organic traffic went from about 450 to 7,500 visitors a month. Case study
    • Porton, a pharmaceutical contract manufacturer (Enterprise Technology Manager, October 2023 to May 2025). I built procurement and lab-inspection apps for the Operations department, led company-wide training for the rollout, and cut manual process time by more than half. I also helped select an electronic lab notebook.
    • A founder's records, merged with nothing lost. A founder's files were spread across two computers, two cloud services and a USB drive. I merged about 2,000 files into one knowledge base, checked that nothing was left behind, and set up his own Claude to work from it with standing instructions.

Three of the startups I built for were later acquired.

    How an engagement works

    1. A 20-minute call. You tell me where your documents live and what your team keeps asking for.
    2. A fixed price within 48 hours. If it is a fit, you get a fixed price and a timeline. There is no hourly billing.
    3. The build, in your accounts. I build everything in your own Google, Notion or Dropbox account and your own Claude account, hand it over with documentation, and train your team. You own all of it, and I keep no copies.
